I grew up in Burnaby, B.C. I attended John Knox Christian School through grade 7 and went on to graduate from Fraser Valley Christian High School. I am truly thankful to have parents who valued Christian education. My Christian education is a blessing in my life. I am married to Evelyn Bylenga, a pastel artist, and we have three adult children. We attend Second Christian Reformed Church in Lynden, WA. I enjoy reading, gardening, fishing, and spending time with my family.
I graduated from Dordt College with a BA in English and History, I received a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Governor’s State University, and I have administrative and teaching credentials from Illinois, the Association of Christian Schools International, and British Columbia. The Lord has called me to the privilege of teaching in and administering Christian schools in Ontario, Illinois, California, Arizona, and British Columbia.
My goal at Delta Christian School is to promote an outstanding school community where each student, teacher, and staff member is valued and encouraged to be the best they can be with the abilities and gifts the Lord has given them.
The Christian school is dedicated to the service of God by coming alongside Christian parents and the church in nurturing children to know and seek the Lord’s will. All members of the school community trust God to work His will in and through them. Therefore, the goal of Christian education is to nurture children as whole persons (spiritual, intellectual, moral, socio-emotional, physical) to know the Lord’s will and help them to develop as God has called them to be. Through a rich educational experience students are encouraged to grow in knowledge, skill and understanding, and apply the Word of God to their lives, living in gratitude in Christ-centered service.
