I grew up in Indonesia where my American parents were missionaries before we settled in White Rock in 1995. I became a dual citizen in 2000. I grew up attending White Rock Baptist Church as my father was the pastor and he continues his ministry at YVR. My mother is a retired music teacher at Trinity Western University and I have three older sisters. I am a single mom and currently live in Richmond with my son. We attend Cedar Park Church in Ladner where I serve regularly on the worship team and enjoy fellowship on Sundays and in the more intimate women’s groups. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, meditation, nature walks, baking, scrapbooking, playing piano, singing, dancing, watching movies, writing poetry, gardening and chasing after my son on the playground.
I graduated from Semiahmoo Secondary in 2004 achieving honour roll and then took the discipleship training school (DTS) at Youth With a Mission Malaysia (YWAM) in 2005. I graduated with my Associate of Arts degree with a major in English language and literature in 2010. I then worked for 8 years as an automotive service advisor at various dealerships in the lower mainland.
Returning to school to follow my dream of working in the field of education was an easy choice and I recently graduated with my Special Education Assistant Diploma from Stenberg College in December 2018 achieving academic distinction.
I worked at Richmond Christian Secondary January – June 2019 and feel quite blessed to now be working in the beautiful and gracious community here in Ladner at a Christian elementary school.
I have also been teaching piano to children ages 4-16 for the last 16 years as a side job and loved every minute of it.
God’s love is everywhere. My passion is to help people of all abilities to understand their self worth and identity is found in the abundant love of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. All we have to do is believe we are worthy of his love to receive it and this will enable us to do all things. Ephesians 2:8-9 “for it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, so that no one can boast”. I firmly believe in providing all students with the foundational truths of the gospel so they may feel anchored in the inevitable waves that life brings us all. I desire to cultivate community and foster a sense of belonging for all members of Delta Christian, including families, parents, students, volunteers and fellow staff.
